My personal journey.
I was born in Pennsylvania and have also lived in Michigan, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and Tennessee.
I was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church and ordained in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
I have worked as a newspaper deliverer, custodian, and fast food clerk. I have worked for corporations and colleges, the federal government and the church. I have volunteered with inner-city kids and homeless men and women, elderly folks and families of Habitat for Humanity.
I have degrees from Vanderbilt University (PhD and MA), Princeton Seminary (MDiv), and Westminster College (BA) and a certificate of spiritual formation from Pittsburgh and Columbia Seminaries.
Who I Am
My most challenging and rewarding job is being a Mom. I find great joy in the loving support from my husband Brian and from sharing a laugh with my children Rebecca and Christian.
We have a rescue dog named Sadie, who loves walks and treats.
I love to read and learn, do yoga and swim, listen to music and write. I love to ask questions!
I have traveled to 29 states (21 more to go!). I made pilgrimages to Taizé, Iona and the Holy Land.
My favorite book is The Poisonwood Bible. My favorite movie is Out of Africa. My favorite hymn is God is Here! My daily devotion is a Psalm. Some of my favorite music includes Martina McBride and and Mozart, Benedictines of Mary and Bruce Springsteen.
I get a glimpse of heaven when I am gathered with friends around the dinner table, enjoying nourishing food, fun fellowship, good red wine, and a delicious chocolate dessert!
